Are these real appraisals?
Snappraisal now uses live AI image identification and AI web research to produce a starting range for signed-in users. It is still not a certified appraisal, and direct marketplace APIs are not connected. Treat the range as a starting opinion and review the returned evidence before making a purchase or sale decision.
What happens when I upload a photo?
Snappraisal uploads the image so the AI can inspect it for identifying details. Owner context is optional. After you confirm the identity and condition, a separate AI research step searches the web for pricing context. Unknown or weak-evidence items can return “Needs Better Evidence” or a specialist path instead of a forced price.
Where are my finds saved?
In browser storage, separately for the guest workspace and each signed-in account. Refreshing keeps your finds. Other devices cannot see them. Clearing browser data removes them, so export a backup from Settings when needed.
How do I sell an item?
Save a find, choose Sell This Item, edit the listing draft and copy its title and description. Publish the listing yourself on your marketplace, then use Mark as Listed. When it sells, record the price, fees and shipping here. No marketplace publishing is connected.
Is potential margin guaranteed profit?
No. Potential difference is a sample estimate minus purchase price, before expenses unless stated otherwise. Deal Check lets you estimate fees, shipping, taxes and repairs. Recorded net is sale price minus purchase cost, fees and shipping; taxes, repairs and time are not included.
What is Research Desk?
Research Desk is the next step after the fast estimate. Saved live appraisals can carry research sources returned by the AI, while the desk also shows category-specific source paths and highlights when a specialist, dealer, grading service, archive or professional directory may be more useful than another automated guess.
Does barcode scanning work?
On browsers that support a built-in barcode detector, you can photograph a barcode and read its number. Otherwise enter the number manually. Product lookup is not connected.
What happened to the original app?
This prototype uses new screens and an isolated local workspace in the clone. Existing database schemas, legacy screens, backend functions and reusable utilities were retained, but legacy discovery, billing and marketplace surfaces are not active in this navigation.
